Insurance & the CDCP

Insurance and the CDCP

Do you offer direct billing to insurance?

Yes. We bill most major insurers directly and handle the claim for you. Learn more on our dental insurance page.

Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Yes. We accept patients covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Bring your member details and we will confirm your coverage and explain what it includes.

Do you accept insurance and the CDCP?

Yes. We accept dental insurance and the Canadian Dental Care Plan, and we offer direct billing to most insurers. Bring your insurance details and our front desk handles the claim.

What if I do not have dental insurance?

You are still welcome. We check and explain your coverage before treatment, and we also accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan if you are eligible. See our insurance and direct billing page.

Emergencies

Dental emergencies

Do you see dental emergencies?

Yes. We hold time for emergencies such as toothache, swelling, a broken or knocked-out tooth and lost fillings. Call (905) 383-7979 early in the day and we will do our best to see you the same day.

What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?

Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root, gently rinse it, and if possible place it back in the socket or keep it in milk. Call us right away. Acting quickly gives the best chance of saving the tooth. Our blog explains what to do in a dental emergency.

My filling fell out but it does not hurt. Is it urgent?

It is best not to wait. An exposed tooth can become sensitive or decay further. Call us and we will arrange a prompt visit to protect the tooth.

Cleanings & prevention

Cleanings and prevention

How often should I have a cleaning and check-up?

Most patients do well with a cleaning and exam every six months, but we tailor the schedule to your gum health and risk of decay.

Do you take digital x-rays?

Yes. We use digital x-rays, which use low radiation and produce clear images instantly. We only take them when they add useful information for your care.

Why are regular check-ups important?

Routine exams catch decay and gum disease while they are small and easier to treat. Our blog covers why a regular check-up matters.

How can I keep my teeth healthier between visits?

Brush twice daily, clean between your teeth once a day, and limit sugary snacks and drinks. For more ideas, read our dental hygiene tips.

Cosmetic & whitening

Cosmetic dentistry and whitening

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, when supervised by a dentist. We assess your teeth and gums first, then use professional whitening that is stronger and more even than store kits.

What cosmetic dental treatments do you offer?

We offer cosmetic options such as veneers, bonding, whitening and smile makeovers, planned so results look natural rather than overdone.

How long does professional whitening last?

It varies with diet and habits. Coffee, tea, red wine and smoking shorten results. With care and occasional top-ups, many patients enjoy a brighter smile for a long time. Our blog covers the benefits of professional whitening.

Implants, crowns & restorations

Implants, crowns and restorations

How long do dental implants last?

With good home care and regular check-ups, implants can last many years and often a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacement over time.

What is the difference between a crown and a filling?

A filling repairs a small area of decay. A crown covers and protects a tooth that is more heavily damaged, cracked or root-treated, restoring its strength and shape.

Can implants replace more than one tooth?

Yes. Implants can support a single crown, a bridge for several teeth, or help secure dentures. We will explain which approach suits your situation. Read how implants improve your smile.

Orthodontics & Invisalign

Orthodontics and Invisalign

Do you offer Invisalign as well as braces?

Yes. We offer traditional orthodontics and Invisalign clear aligners. The best choice depends on your bite and goals.

Is Invisalign suitable for adults?

Often, yes. Many adults choose Invisalign because the aligners are removable and discreet. Our blog discusses orthodontic treatment for adults.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

It depends on the case. Minor corrections can take a few months, while more complex movement takes longer. We give a realistic timeline at your consultation.

Kids & families

Kids and families

At what age should my child first see a dentist?

We recommend a first visit around the time the first teeth appear or by the first birthday. See our family dentistry page.

Can my whole family book on the same day?

Yes. We can often schedule family appointments back to back to save you trips, which works well for parents with school-age children.

Do you treat children who are nervous?

Yes. We keep children's visits short and positive, show them the tools, and never rush. The goal is a calm experience that builds lasting trust.

Anxiety & comfort

Anxiety and comfort

I feel anxious about the dentist. How do you help?

Tell us when you book. We move at your pace, explain each step before it happens, agree on a signal to pause, and keep the room calm so you feel in control.

Does treatment hurt?

We focus on gentle care and use effective freezing for procedures. Most patients are surprised by how little they feel. Let us know about sensitivity and we will adjust.

Can I transfer my records from another dentist?

Yes. Bring any recent x-rays or records, or tell us your previous dentist and we can request them. It helps us understand your history quickly.

Will you explain my coverage before treatment?

Yes. After your exam we explain what is needed and check and explain how your insurance or CDCP coverage applies before anything is booked.

Still have a question?

Our front desk is happy to help. Call us or send a request and we will get back to you within one business day.
